Is it safe to share WiFi via QR code?

Yes. The QR code contains the same info you'd share verbally. For extra security, use a guest network with isolation enabled so visitors cannot reach your devices.

Which security type should I choose?

Most modern routers use WPA or WPA2. WPA3 is also supported. If unsure, check your router settings under wireless security.

Yes. iPhones running iOS 11 or later can scan WiFi QR codes directly with the built-in camera app and join the network in one tap.

What if my network is hidden?

Toggle the Hidden network option and the QR code will include the hidden flag so phones know to actively search for the SSID.

Does a WiFi QR code work on Android?

Yes, Android 10 and later supports WiFi QR codes natively in the camera app and Google Lens. Older Android phones may need a third party scanner app.

Will my guests need a special app to scan?

No. The default camera app on every modern iPhone and Android phone reads WiFi QR codes. Guests scan, tap Join, and the network connects automatically.

What if I change my WiFi password later?

The old QR code stops working because the password is encoded directly. Generate a new QR with the updated password and reprint or redisplay any signage.
